Social Value

Solution One
Social Value Initiative

At Solution One, our company is built upon supporting the local community. With the Managing Director coming from a community where unemployment is high due to lack of employment opportunities, it remains paramount for her to provide a service that continually strives to give back.

That’s why we have launched our Social Value Initiative to give back to our community and to support people who are looking to kick start their career. We recognise that unemployment can be a difficult and stressful experience and we believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to find meaningful employment.

What does
the
Solution One
Social Value
Initiative
look like?

Working in partnership with
local agencies

We can currently list The Works Construction Academy, Manchester and
The Job Centre Plus sites as some of our regular
partners.

Supporting Local Communities back into
Society and Employment

we support potential employees from the local
community who have for a significant period,
been out of employment for
reasons including previous imprisonment,
impacted by mental health, job loss (significant
increase during the Covid-19 pandemic) or due to
other personal reasons by matching them to any
of our available posts.

Providing Learning, Training and
Mentorship Support

We support individuals with re-entering into
society and back into employment through the
creation of a bespoke package. This support
package offers access to personalised training and
mentorship during their time with the company.
This is to help improve personal skills and
employability, with a view to improving their
long-term social outcomes, mental health, and
wellbeing.

Passionate about our community
and sustainability

We are all about making a real difference for
the local community while also having a positive
impact on the environment and sustainability.

Social Value Targets

In 2020, to help deliver our social values target, we began working closely with Framework’s Social enterprise. We identified priority background residents from Greater Manchester and helped them back to work with training and support.

Since July 2020, 77% of Greater Manchester residents completed the training courses and were helped back into employment. This has to date, been the most prosperous avenue and has yielded the highest number of individuals getting back into work.
